A Life At Stake - A Slightly Flawed Film Noir

I have been finding a lot of Film Noir treasures on Tubi. A Life at Stake, while maybe not a flawless Film Noir, has a lot going for it. Angela Lansbury is the main attraction, as a shady lady out to scam a down on his luck architect (Keith Andes). Douglass Dumbrille plays her equally shady husband, and Claudia Barrett (an actress I had never seen before) plays Angela's cute little sister. 

Any thinking person would be immediately suspicious of the whole set up that Keith Andes falls for, but you have to assume he was blinded by Angela's beauty. She looks fabulous in this 1955 film! She probably enjoyed playing a glamorous femme fatale instead of somebody's loony mother, which was a role she was very good at, but sometimes a girl just wants to hang out in her pool and charm some good looking dolt, and she does a great job of that in this film! Lol
