The Monster And The Girl - A Horror Noir

The Monster and the Girl is a good Noir, never mind that it's also one of those "mad scientist puts killer's brain in an ape's body" type of horror/science fiction stories. LOL But it is interesting, especially once the ape sets out to avenge his brain's former inhabitant's wrongful arrest and conviction. I guess I'm telling too much of the plot but that doesn't really matter in a film like this. What keeps you watching is wondering how the thing will end. Plus, there's a loyal dog in it. That's enough to make up for any flaws the film has! 

The cast is tops - Paul Lukas, Ellen Drew, Phillip Terry, Marc Lawrence, Rod Cameron, Joseph Calleia, Gerald Mohr, Onslow Stevens, George Zucco, Edward Van Sloan and Robert Paige! And the guy in the ape suit has the saddest, most soulful eyes! It's a great escape from a humid summer afternoon - or any time!
