The Narrow Margin - An Excellent Film Noir

The Narrow Margin is a short Film Noir with a tight script, great direction, good actors and best of all - most of it takes place on a train! I love trains. I wish we still had a decent train system in the USA. With luxury compartments and nice dining rooms and intriguing people inhabiting the hallways. LOL 

Anyway, the plot involves a cop taking a gangster's wife to LA to testify against the gangster. She has a very important list the cops need badly. The wife seems to be a creepy sort, but nothing is as it appears to be. 

All sorts of ruffians are on the train, trying to stop the wife from getting to LA. Which makes for lots of tense scenes, brawls and shootouts. And there is a bit of romance thrown in, too. Plus a cute kid to distract you from the danger once in awhile.

The Narrow Margin is one of my favorite go to films, if I want a quick getaway to another place and time. The clothes, the cars, the language - and the train - are all so cool!
