Fail Safe & Ladybug, Ladybug - Two Frightening Films

I haven't watched FAIL SAFE in years. The last time I saw it I was frightened half out of my mind. It is a taut, honest look at the idiocy that humans have wrought on this Earth with their ever-increasing need for power and their insatiable hunger for the ability to destroy everything in their paths.

LADYBUG, LADYBUG covers the same theme - the threat of nuclear war - but this film sees it through the eyes of children, which makes it even more horrific. Children always suffer the most in times of violence and aggression. You'd think we would've evolved enough to make war obsolete in the 21st Century, if only to keep our precious children safe so that they can thrive. But we seem to have hit a barrier so hard that it has bounced us back towards the past; the ugly, cruel, murderous past that is our shame and our legacy, sadly.
